parent + child clay date

come + spend some time with me, getting a little messy + hanging out with your child in the school holidays... on a parent + child clay date. fun!

date: saturday 18 january 2020
time: 1:30pm - 3:00pm
location: Block J shop front, 1605 botany road, botany

this is a special workshop designed for a parent + child hang out. my workshop will run for 90 minutes. our focus will be on creating miniature clay figures with your hands. think: animals... superheroes... fairies... let your imagination go nuts!

my class would suit complete beginners excited about doing something creative with their hands. i recommend that your child is at least 6 years old, however i am happy to chat with you on a case-by-case basis (please email me!)

my price is a workshop launch price. there are two prices:
1. for a parent + child pair.
2. for a parent + two children trio.
both options include all materials, tools and firing. all you need to bring is you + your clay date/s!

on the day:
- i will kick off by showing you some super basic hand-building techniques. you + your date/s will spend the remainder of our time together making your own pieces with my guidance.
- i'll also provide a few snacks to help get the creative juices flowing (yes!). please let me know any dietary requirements asap via email.

directly after our class:
- each pair/trio may choose their two/three favourite pieces respectively (in total). i will fire + glaze your art work that week.
- should you have too many favourites + just can't bear to part with your new clay friends, i am happy to include the firing + glazing of any extras for you at an additional cost.

2 - 3 weeks after our class:
- your finished pieces will be ready for collection from botany 2 - 3 weeks later.
- should you prefer, i am able to send your pieces to you via courier at an additional cost.

some of the finer + a little more boring details:
- please wear casual clothes and enclosed shoes. any clay mess made on clothing is washable with water.
- we will have a photographer available to take photos of our time together. these photos may be used for Chuchu or Block J marketing purposes. we would be happy to make these files available to you, should there be any that you love. should you prefer for you + your child/children not to be featured, please let me know via email asap.
- due to small class size + tonnes of time + love that goes into preparing for my workshops, refunds due to change of mind or no longer being able to make the workshop time is not possible. the exception to this is in the case where minimum class numbers are not reached. should this be the case, i will let you know a week before the class.
- classes may be transferred to others, so if you can no longer make it, feel free to pass your spot on to a friend (please just flick me an email or message to let me know).
- listing photos featuring me hand building are taken by my friend + fellow clay lover, erica raxworthy. listing photos featuring sample clay turtles are by me.
